The River Cottage
has a fantastic, screened deck which juts out over the Rocky
Broad River. Here you can relax on the deck and watch the white
water tumble over the river boulders of the Hickory Nut Gorge
right from your back porch! Let the sounds of the rushing white
water put you to sleep at night. This cottage is small but very
charming and decorated an “apple” theme. It has a small bedroom
with a queen bed and an open up sofa in the living area.
The cottage is
conveniently located to many popular Western North Carolina
attractions. Chimney Rock Park and charming Chimney Rock
Village are located only 2.5 miles away. In Chimney Rock, you
will find a view of Hickory Nut Falls, which is located in
Chimney Rock Park. Hickory Nut Falls is the waterfall made
famous in the film “The Last of the Mohicans”. Chimney Rock
is one of Western North Carolina’s most popular vacation
destinations. In the small mountain village of Chimney Rock,
you will find quaint gift shops and restaurants. Lake Lure is
located only 3.5 miles from the cottage. The town of Lake Lure
offers boating, a marina, a water park and water front dining.
The River Cottage is
situated along side other river front cabins and is located
directly on the Rocky Broad River off Highway 9 in Bat Cave,
